Of all the thoughtful Mother's Day gifts
I've received in the past,
sometimes I forget too soon, too fast:

For nothing can ever compare
to the precious lives with which I've been blessed,
and have entrusted into my care.

As I watch the fruit in them grow
from my guidance and taking time to pray-
This honor as a mother, I know,
is not confined to the month of May.

Special memories I have of each child
to treasure deep within my heart;
Cherished thoughts to last a lifetime,
from which I'll never part.

And someday, more blessings
may be given unto me;
Grandchildren, to love and add growth
to my family tree.

I'm not concerned with possessions to horde,
for children are the priceless heritage
of the Lord.

Material gifts can bless my heart
and touch my soul,
But without my children,
my life just wouldn't be whole.

Since they are my most precious gifts,
I'm convinced of this one thing:
Celebrating motherhood is year-round,
not only in the Spring.
